International Women's Day - Crestbridge Edition
As we come to the end of International Women's Day, we wanted to celebrate the successful women we have working with us, and to talk to them about what it is like to work at Crestbridge.
• What does International Women’s Day mean to you?
When I think of International Women’s Day, the quote I often see posted that really resonates with me is: “Here’s to Strong Women. May we be them, may we know them, and may we raise them”
As a mother of two girls, International Women’s Day has become more significant as I watch them grow up. I want my daughters to realise that being a woman should not hold them back from achieving any goals they have in life. Everyone should be given the same opportunities if they are willing to work hard to get where they want. I do believe women can do anything, and they often do it on less sleep than men !
• What does its theme this year #ChooseToChallenge mean to you?
The theme is powerful, it is encouraging us all to speak up if we see people being mistreated in any manner simply because of who they are. We all have to hope that the more people that start challenging injustice then the less likely it will be for those in power to continue to get away with it.
• Thinking about IWD, what is your experience of working at Crestbridge?
In the short time that I have been at Crestbridge, it is very clear to me that there is no ceiling for women at Crestbridge. There are so many great role models in our firm and am delighted to be part of such an inclusive environment.
• What advice would you give to other women about their careers in general and at Crestbridge?
Throughout your career there will be different challenges, do not be afraid to ask for advice or support, often the person you are asking has been in the same shoes you are in. It is important for us all to support and encourage each other.
